The deposit
To hold your place you pay a 30% deposit online. The remaining 70% is paid directly to Chez Boaz Tours on the day of the tour, in cash or by transfer.
If you cancel
If you cancel 24 hours or more before departure, we refund the full deposit or change your booking, whichever you prefer. Message us on WhatsApp with your booking code.
With less than 24 hours’ notice the deposit is non-refundable: the boat and crew are already committed to your date.
Date changes depend on boat availability on the day you propose.
If the tour cannot sail
These are open-water crossings and they depend on sea conditions and on the port authority. Tayrona National Park also closes to the public several times a year for ecological restoration.
When a departure is cancelled for any of those reasons, rather than by the traveller, Chez Boaz Tours reschedules the tour for another date at no extra cost.
Punctuality
Departure is at 9:30 a.m. from the Bay of Santa Marta, Calle 22 # 1. Please arrive thirty minutes early.
Return times for each tour are estimates: they depend on the sea.
The boat cannot wait for a passenger who does not arrive on time, because the sailing window is shared with the rest of the group. In that case the deposit is lost.
Luggage
Each passenger may bring luggage of up to 15 kilos. Anything over that has a charge by weight.
Bring protective covers for your bags: things get wet on the boat.
Children, health and restrictions
- Children under 5 only pay the Tayrona National Park insurance. To book them, message us on WhatsApp.
- Because of the open-sea crossing we do not carry pregnant women or adults over 65. Anyone who travels in those conditions does so at their own responsibility.
- If you have a disability or a health condition, let us know before booking so we can check whether we can take you.
- The Wachakyta tour is only for people with a lodging reservation at Wachakyta.
Your rights as a consumer
This policy sets out the commercial terms of the service and does not limit the rights Colombian law gives you as a consumer.
If you have a complaint, come to us first: we resolve it faster than any other route.
