Land Transportation
You can take a bus from the Santa Marta Public Market to the main entrance of the park, known as El Zaino. The trip lasts approximately one hour.
Boat Transportation

Tayrona Park closures in 2026
Tayrona National Natural Park is open all year except for three rest periods. During those dates it closes to visitors so the ecosystems can recover, and the Indigenous peoples of the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta hold spiritual rituals at their sacred sites. While the park is closed you cannot visit its beaches, trails or lodgings, not even by sea.
Tayrona Park closure dates for 2026
